Within the framework of preparing for the ninth international scientific conference of Zyarat AL-Arbain, the Advisory and Coordinating Committee at the University of Baghdad organized, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, an introductory webinar via the MEET platform, with the participation of a group of academics and researchers from various Iraqi universities, scientific institutions and research centers, as well as representatives of the Prime Minister's Office and a number of ministries. The symposium witnessed the participation of Prof. Dr. Karim Hassan, Dean of the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Graduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Faisal Ghazi, Head of the Department of Remote Sensing at the College of Science, and Dr. Hassan Al-Atta, Chairman of the Committee supervising the Arbaeen Art Exhibition, in addition to a number of research professors, as well as Prof. Dr. Nazir Jabbar Al-Hindawi, Scientific Assistant to the Director of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, where he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the attendees and stressed the importance of concerted efforts For the success of this great scientific forum.
The symposium, which was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Hussein Abbas, included the screening of a short introductory film about the Ninth International Scientific Conference, which will be held in August 2025 organized by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain and under the supervision of a coordinating committee from the University of Baghdad, the film focused on the objectives of the conference, which include highlighting the visit of the forty as a global humanitarian phenomenon, in addition to reviewing the themes of the conference and mechanisms for presenting research. The Coordinating Committee of the Conference provided a detailed explanation of the art exhibition that will be held on the sidelines of the conference, under the supervision of Dr. Hassan Al-Atta, which is one of the most prominent activities accompanying the conference, and then the time was opened for discussion for the attending professors, to ask questions and inquiries about participation in the conference and its mechanisms, and the interventions resulted in a positive interaction that contributed to enhancing understanding of the conference's objectives and topics.
The symposium came as part of a series of introductory seminars aimed at encouraging researchers and academics to participate scientifically and research in the conference, which is one of the most important academic events in Iraq, as it seeks to highlight the cultural, civilizational and human dimensions of the Arbain pilgrimage through solid scientific research. At the end of the symposium, the organizers stressed the importance of concerted academic efforts for the success of this distinguished scientific forum, which represents a platform to introduce the cultural and human dimensions of the Arbain pilgrimage, and the ninth international scientific conference is scheduled to be held of the Arbain in August next year, which is held by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the holy shrine of Husseiniya, in cooperation with the University of Baghdad, Al-Zahra University for Women, and the Scientific Academic Council of Zyarat AL-Arbain, in a step that reflects the commitment of these institutions to support scientific research and promote The human values represented by Zyarat AL-Arbain.
