The Specialized Studies Division on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, affiliated with the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, has announced an extension for submitting research abstracts for the Ninth International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage until April 20, 2025.
This extension aims to provide more researchers with the opportunity to participate in the conference, which seeks to explore the spiritual and humanitarian dimensions of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as well as its cultural, social, and civilizational impacts. It is also noted that the final deadline for submitting full research papers will be June 15, 2025.
Furthermore, the administration of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research is pleased to announce that the Ninth International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage has been officially accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This accreditation was granted according to the official letter issued by the Department of Research and Development / Scientific Coordination Section, numbered (B T 2/3666) on (March 24, 2025), as the conference meets the requirements outlined in the regulations for organizing conferences, which were circulated through the ministry’s official letter (B T 2/5359) on (June 21, 2025).
It is worth noting that the center continues its preparatory work for holding the ninth edition of the conference, scheduled for August 17-18, 2025, in the holy city of Karbala. The event will be sponsored by the legal custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbala’i (may his honor endure) and organized in collaboration with the University of Baghdad and the Scientific Academic Council for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. The conference will witness broad scientific and academic participation from within Iraq and beyond.
